BRENNER REAL ESTATE GROUP EXPANDS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DIVISION;
Merger of Property Management Firm Creates Synergy & New Accounts
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The energy of synergy is at work at Fort Lauderdale-based Brenner Real Estate Group as the company undergoes a departmental expansion exemplifying that a combined effort is greater than the sum of two separate entities.
A full service commercial real estate company with offices in Cypress Creek and in Melbourne, FL, Brenner is expanding its Property Management Division with the merger of Sentinel Property Management led by Sentinel owner David Burgess. In 2007, Sentinel began serving as a vendor for Brenner Real Estate Group, providing property management services for Brenner’s townhome community, The Oaks at Oakland Forest located one mile west of I-95 on Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park, FL. Scott Brenner, president and CEO of Brenner Real Estate Group, and Burgess recognized the complementary fit of the two companies, and decided to consolidate Sentinel into the Brenner corporation.
“Combining our services creates advantages for both parties,” states Scott Brenner. “Brenner’s depth of experience and our existing property management team can support David’s existing clients and allow the opportunity for growth.”
Brenner will absorb Sentinel’s existing portfolio of 19 property management accounts totaling approximately 250,000 square feet, expanding Brenner’s total square feet under management to +/- 1,700,000. Nine of the clients are multifamily communities that Burgess provides with Association management, and the remaining ten are Broward Health properties. Burgess will join Brenner’s existing Property Management Division as Executive Vice President. Two Sentinel staff members, Elaine Friedman and Katherine Rodriguez, will also join the firm.
Scott Brenner noted, “We also recognized that Brenner’s experience and track record providing property management services as a Court appointed receiver can assist David with any Associations which are struggling in today’s tough economy. We can identify issues and provide preventive and creative solutions that can help troubled Association communities overcome the considerable array of challenges in today’s market.”
David Burgess said, “The power created by merging Sentinel into Brenner offers an opportunity for more effective and efficient management services for both of our existing portfolios and creates a dynamic new team poised for growth through the addition of new commercial and multi-family properties along with Brenner’s receivership services and asset solutions.”
Mr. Burgess has been involved in the property management business since 1985, and prior to Sentinel, had established a management firm specializing in services to Homeowner Association communities. Burgess is a 35-year resident of Fort Lauderdale. He holds a B.S. degree in Behavioral Science from the University of South Florida and maintains a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License, a Florida Community Association Manager’s License, and is a Florida Certified General Contractor.
